PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine equipped with a cooling mechanism, having high assembling workability. SOLUTION: A cylindrical member 4 axially, protruding toward a stator 5, is formed at lateral boards 1B, 1C as case end members. When lateral boards 1B, 1C are assembled on a cylindrical board 1A as a case body, a seal member 8 is axially crushed in between the stator 5 and it by the cylindrical member 4. On the outer periphery side of the cylindrical member 4, annular cooling jackets communicating with a refrigerant passage 15 are formed by the cylindrical board 1A, the lateral boards 1B, 1C, and the stator 5.
