PURPOSE: A method for converting channels of a digital TV is provided to input a channel selecting signal in a state that minor channel information belonging to a selected major channel in converting channels of the digital TV. CONSTITUTION: If a major channel selecting signal is inputted, it is judged whether the major channel selecting signal is a channel up/down signal(S101-S102). If so, the corresponding major channel is tuned(S105). If a major channel number is directly inputted, the corresponding major channel is tuned in a moment that an operator is continuously inputted after the major channel number(S103-S104). A PSIP(Program Service Information Protocol) table is parsed for extracting minor channel information belonging to the corresponding major channel(S106-S107). It is judged whether the number of minor channels is more than two(S108). Otherwise, video of one minor channel belonging to the corresponding major channel is displayed(S109). If so, numbers of all minor channels belonging to the selected major channels are displayed on a picture(S110). If the minor channel number is selected, video of the corresponding channel is displayed(S111-S112).
