CONTACT STRUCTURE FOR GAS INSULATED SWITCH

PURPOSE: A contact structure is provided to protect the contact from being burnt by the arc generated during the supply or cutting of the current. CONSTITUTION: A three-position switch comprises an insulated case(1) and a movable contact(2). The movable contact is selectively connected to a grounding terminal(3) or a fixed contact(4) in accordance with the operation of a manipulator. The fixed contact is connected to a conductor(5). The movable contact fixed at the insulated case has one side on which an arc contact for removal of arc is mounted. The arc contact is arranged to contact the fixed contact prior to the movable contact when the insulated case rotates toward the fixed contact. The arc contact is made of an alloy of a copper and tungsten.
