PURPOSE:To enable density of a recording image to be adjusted by operating within an operation temperature range in recording by a method wherein the operation temperature range of a recording head is established from a specification of a density specifying means of a volume or the like capable of varying an output voltage value. CONSTITUTION:A MPU 3 reads output voltage of a volume 11 via an AD converter 3e, and establishes a lower limit temperature TV1 and an upper limit temperature TV2 of a recording head 10 according to this output voltage. A relation between the output voltage of the volume 11 and the established temperature is determined from contents to be established in a ROM 3a. Besides, a head temperature TH to be detected with a thermistor 10a is read via the AD converter 3e. Then, when the head temperature TH is lower than the lower limit temperature TV1, a heater 10b is electrified. Then, after waiting until the head temperature TH grows higher than TV1, electrification of the heater 10b is stopped. Further, when the head temperature TH is higher than the upper limit temperature TV2, waiting for a specific time is performed to make the recording head 10 cool naturally. Then, when the head temperature TH remains within this range, scanning is performed with a carriage 12, and recording is performed on recording paper 13. |
