PURPOSE:To adjust a capacitance value in a remarkably short time by a method wherein, when the capacitance value of a ceramic capacitor element is adjusted by cutting off one part of counter electrodes of the element, the operating tip of a trimming apparatus is shifted so as to draw a closed figure on an electrode part repeatedly and an electrode is cut off. CONSTITUTION:An interelectrode dielectric layer 6 is sandwiched between electrodes 1 and 3; a ceramic capacitor element 2 is formed; when a capacitance value is adjusted by cutting off one part of the counter electrodes, this adjustment is executed in the following way. That is, a trimming apparatus is arranged on the upper-part electrode 1; the operating tip installed at the apparatus is shifted in such a way that a closed figure is drawn; an electrode 4 which has been cut off via a gap 5 is left; as a result, an area of the electrode 1 is made small. In order to produce the gap, it may be not always a circle; it may be trimmed to be a polygon. Since an excess electrode material is not removed completely in this manner and a cut-off method is adopted, the capacitance value can be adjusted in a short time. |
