PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient transportation and storage by increasing self preservation property of a gas hydrate and reducing decomposition of the gas hydrate during transportation and storage when transporting and storing the gas hydrate in forms of powder, a pellet, and a compressed block or the like. SOLUTION: In the method for transporting and storing the gas hydrate under gas hydrate decomposition conditions, the gas hydrate is transported and stored after sorting out the gas hydrate to grain diameters to suppress decomposition by self preservation effect. And/or, the gas hydrate is transported and stored after exhibiting self preservation effect by leaving the gas hydrate under gas hydrate decomposition conditions for a designated period.
