PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve pitch troubles occurring many times in neutral and alkaline paper making of middle quality paper, lower quality paper and paper for newspapers all of which contain mechanical pulp and/or deinked pulp. SOLUTION: This method for paper making comprises adding a polyethylene amine after adding Fe<SP>2+</SP>or Cu<SP>2+</SP>to neutral or alkaline paper containing 30-100 wt.% mechanical pulp and/or deinked pulp and a filler to fix an anion trash such as hemicellulose, dissolved and remaining lignin, a resin acid and, a fatty acid, derived from the mechanical pulp on the pulp fibers efficiently in a paper making system.
