PURPOSE: A drive program backup system is provided to recover a defected drive program, and to change a communication protocol with damaging a memory so that it can enhance a system stability and reduce an after service cost. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a main memory(11), a microcomputer(10), a serial interface(12), an auxiliary memory(21), a multiplexor(22) and a switch(23). The main memory(11) stores a drive program, applications, and various operation related data. The microcomputer(10) controls an operation of a corresponding electronic product according to the drive program stored by the main memory(11). The auxiliary memory(21) stores a drive program for a basic backup operation. The multiplexor(22) allows the microcomputer(10) to use the data stored by either the main memory(11) or the auxiliary memory(21). The switch(23) enables a user to select a data I/O path of the multiplexor(22).
