Method for coding and generating texts in which data (1, 2, i, n) is coded such that groups or classes of signs are associated with a data item. Rhetorical constraints are coded in order to restrict the number of classes associated with the data and to process a written presentation with associated signs. The invention also relates to a corresponding device, text generation server and text generation terminal.
