<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that appropriately controls image density or color by detecting an image formed on a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 has: an image forming means A that forms a toner image on an image carrier 12; a transfer means 13 that transfers the toner image, formed by the image forming means A, to a transfer material 22 in a transfer position T2; a fixing means 14 that fixes the toner image, transferred by the transfer means 13, to the surface of the transfer material 22; a transport-direction switching means 16 that switches a direction of the transport of the transfer material 22 in order to invert the transfer material 22, with the toner image fixed on it by the fixing means 14, and transport it to the transfer position T2; a detecting means 50 that detects, in a specific detecting position, the toner image fixed on the transfer material 22 by the fixing means 14; and a control means 103 that controls the image forming means A based upon the result of the detection by the detecting means 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
