<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for achieving satisfactory transfer by constant current control even when a kind and humidity environment of a recording medium are changed. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a transfer bias impression power source 81 for impressing a transfer bias on a transfer roller 31 by the constant current control and a voltmeter 78 for measuring a generated voltage as a resistance value of the transfer roller 31, selects a transfer bias based on size, thickness of paper 3, which are detected by a paper type detection program and the generated voltage measured by the voltmeter 78 and impresses the selected transfer bias from the transfer bias impression power source 81. Thus, since a transfer bias corresponding to the size and the thickness of the paper 3 on which transfer is performed is impressed corresponding to the generated voltage to be measured at the time even when the size, the thickness of the paper 3 and the resistance value of the transfer roller 31 are changed, the satisfactory transfer is achieved by the constant current control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
