<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for valve timing device for positively fit a locking member in a fitting hole. <P>SOLUTION: This control method solve the problem that the retard/advance angle response speed of a vane rotor 15 to a housing member 10 and the moving speed of a locking piston 30 are changed with the change of the temperature of a working fluid and oil pressure. Sensor signals corresponding to the oil temperature of the working fluid and the oil pressure are inputted in an ECU (electronic control unit), a delay time for delaying timing for controlling a spool valve 230 later than the timing for controlling a solenoid valve 240 is obtained from a delay-time map with an oil temperature and oil pressure as input information. When the oil temperature is raised, the delay time is shortened, and when the oil pressure is raised, the delay time is prolonged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
