PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting method of burying error of a magnetic marker which improves the performance of detection of vehicle position, by providing a means of measuring the position and gradient of the magnetic marker buried under a road, as it is buried, and to confirm it within the limits of expected burying errors. SOLUTION: This system is composed of a magnetic sensor array which is prepared in a mobile measuring device that can move on a car or on a road, a recording medium for output, for compared basic data of a magnetic marker, a calculation device which calculates the angle of gradient and error of the position from the compared basic data, actual measurement value, and route information of the car or the mobile measuring device, and the car or the mobile measuring device is moved over the magnetic marker buried under the road, neighboring magnetic flux density is measured, then the calculation device detects the error of the position and the degree of gradient of the buried magnetic marker, and determines whether the burying error is within the permissible limits, by calculating the compared basic data of the magnetic marker and the route of the car or the mobile measuring device.
