PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which can correctly record digital image data on an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: In the image reader, a frame body 136 is supported via a vibration proof member 142. A film carrier 38 provided with a CD-R writer 170 is mounted on the frame body 136. In the CD-R writer 170, when vibration is transmitted at image information recording, there exists a possibility that it becomes impossible to record image information on the CD-R disk correctly. In this embodiment, however, the image information is correctly recordable on the CD-R disk because the CD-R writer 170 is attached to the film carrier 38 which is not easily influenced by vibration.
