PURPOSE: A system for storing holographic digital data is provided to easily manufacture a phase modulator by using an HOE as the phase modulator and accurately control a phase. CONSTITUTION: A beam splitter(12) splits a beam entered from a light source(10) into a signal beam and a reference beam to make each beam enter a phase modulator and a first reflecting mirror(14) respectively. A spatial light modulator(22) modulates light and shade binary data formed by pixels according to the phase-modulated signal beam. The first reflecting mirror and a second reflecting mirror(16) reflect the reference beam to a storage medium(26) through an HOE(Holographic Optical Element)(20) and a first lens(18), so that an interference pattern generated by a mutual interference between the signal beam and the reference beam is recorded on the storage medium. The HOE modulates a phase of the reference beam with multiplexing the reference beam provided from the second reflecting mirror. |
