AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE COMPENSATOR FOR TUNABLE FILTER AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic temperature compensator for a new tunable filter having no constitution (a temperature control portion) for maintaining the tunable filter at constant temperature and requiring no manual adjustment of the constant of a temperature compensation circuit for a working temperature change. SOLUTION: The automatic temperature compensator of the tunable filter selects a conversion table showing a correlation between a variation mechanism parameter and a selected wavelength in a tunable filter 1 according to the working temperature change. A temperature detecting means 10 for detecting working temperature of the tunable filter and a conversion table 5 showing the correlation between the variation mechanism parameter of the tunable filter and the selected wavelength are provided for a plurality of temperatures. Thus, the automatic thermal compensator of the tunable filter selects the conversion table corresponding to temperature close to detected temperature according to the detection output of the temperature detecting means.
