PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detecting device constantly ensuring necessary detection sensitivity and detection accuracy even if assembly unevenness and change with time occur. SOLUTION: The rotation detecting device 100 comprises an electromagnet 10 generating a bias magnetic filed 4 toward a gear 3 of an object to be detected, an electromagnet driving circuit 60 for generating the field 4 by driving the electromagnet 10, a magnetic element 20 converting the change of the field 4 to an electric signal, and a detection circuit 7 for detecting the electric signal output from the element 20.
