PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a seal surface pressure at the peripheral edge parts of cylinder openings by beads in a metal gasket installed between the cylinder block and the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This metal gasket comprises two sheets of elastic metal base plates A<SB>1</SB>and A<SB>2</SB>having the beads 2 formed at the peripheral edge parts of the plurality of cylinder openings 1 and a metal sheet B arranged on the protruded part sides of the beads. Opening parts 6 are formed in the base plate A<SB>1</SB>at a portion overlapped with the fixed portion of the metal sheet to one elastic metal base plate, whereby by providing the opening parts 6, the lowering of the seal surface pressure at the peripheral edge parts of the cylinder openings by the fixed portion of the metal sheet can be suppressed to increase the seal surface pressure at the bead portions.
