<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of novel construction of which the increase in the price and size of a final product may be minimized by integrally forming a fingerprint recognition device with the liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid display device comprises an image display panel 714b and a fingerprint recognition panel 714a which are integrally formed, wherein the image display panel comprises a scan drive unit 710 which sequentially turns on (turn on) rows (row) formed in the image display panel for each frame in order to display images, and a data drive unit 712 which outputs data signals to a turned-on row provided in the image display panel, and wherein the fingerprint recognition panel comprises a switch control unit 716 which sequentially turns on rows formed in the fingerprint recognition panel for each frame in order to perform fingerprint recognition, and a reading unit 718, to which fingerprint information recognized from a turned-on row is outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
