PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk unit which can effectively prevent fly stictions apt to be generated on an LUL-type magnetic disk device. SOLUTION: After a seed layer 2a, a ground layer 2b, a magnetic layer 3 and a carbon/hydrogen protective layer 4 are formed on a disk blank 1 with this order, a lubricant film consisting of a lubricant containing a solvent is formed on the carbon/hydrogen protective layer 4 in a film-forming process. Following the process, in an evaporation rate adjustment process, a lubricant layer 5 is formed by adjusting its evaporation speed, in order that remaining solvent in the lubricant film evaporates gradually. This allows standard deviation with respect to the thickness of the layer in average for the lubricant layer 5 to be less than 15%, and the occurrence of the fly stiction is suppressed, as a result.
