METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for driving a plasma display panel are provided to optimize an address operation condition and prevent the mis-discharge under the environment of high temperature by reducing forcibly a voltage level of a set-down voltage to a predetermined voltage level. CONSTITUTION: A method for driving a plasma display panel includes a cell reset process and a voltage level change process. The cell reset process is to reset all cells on screen by using a set-down voltage. The voltage level change process is to change forcibly a voltage level of the set-down voltage before an address period is performed to select the cells. The process for changing voltage level of the set-down voltage is characterized in that the voltage level of the set-down voltage is forcibly reduced to the predetermined voltage level before the address period is performed to select the cells.
