<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical character recognition device which can perform reliable character recognition and numbering printing wherein torn document is taken into account. <P>SOLUTION: According to a document image obtained by a scanner part 13 and read position information defined in an FC, a host device 20 performs character recognition processing by extracting characters, one by one, from a character entry frame of a read field of a read document. Further, when the character recognition processing is performed, tearing detection concerned with the read field of the read document and processing accompanying the tear detection, and tear detection concerned with a numbering print area and processing accompanying the tear detection are performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
