PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diversify use configurations and effectively diffuse negative ions radiated from an ion generating device even if a slide pipe is moved in vertical direction. SOLUTION: In this electric fan, the slide pipe 5 slidably supporting an air blowing part 10 incorporating a fan in vertical direction is installed in a column 4 vertically installed on a base 3. The ion generating device 14 is installed on the base 3, and the radiating angle of the ion generating device 14 relative to a floor surface can be varied freely. The radiating angle of the ion generating device 14 is changed according to the slide position of the slide pipe 5. Specifically, a motor 22 as a drive part for changing the radiating angle of the ion generating device 14 and a detection part 25 for detecting the vertical position of the air blowing part 10 are installed, and the motor 22 is driven according to the vertical position of the air blowing part 10 detected by the detection part 25.
