PURPOSE: A video thumbnail conversion method in the messaging service of a mobile network is provided so that a user can download a thumbnail video and comprehend the whole contents of a video mail message roughly through the downloaded thumbnail video before seeing the original contents. CONSTITUTION: If video bit streams are transferred from a video CODEC, an SMS(Short Message Service) server or an MMS server detects major pictures, such as I-picture, P-picture, etc., only(S10) and discards the other pictures(S20). The SMS server or the MMS server reduces the detected major pictures in the directions of width and length at a ratio of 1/4 or 1/8, makes a thumbnail video, and outputs it(S30). |
