LCD AND FABRICATING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to form dummy column spacers having openings and dot line type dummy column spacers on the dummy areas for controlling the flow of liquid crystal smoothly. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes upper and lower substrates(200,100), and a UV curing sealant(300) formed on edge areas between the substrates. Dummy column spacers(260) are formed for controlling the flow of the liquid crystal in the UV curing sealant among dummy areas outside pixel areas. The pixel areas are formed with column spacers which keep a cell gap between the substrates. The dummy column spacers are formed with the same height with the column spacers and have an opening(262) at least at a corner via which the liquid crystal flows toward the corner area.
