PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to attach an upper polarization plate to a top chassis for minimizing the adhesion area of the upper polarization plate to promote the retraction of the upper polarization plate by heat, thereby preventing the light leakage and improving the display performance of the LCD. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a display unit for displaying images, a backlight assembly for supplying light to the display unit, and a mold frame and a top chassis(200) for receiving the display unit and the backlight assembly. The display unit includes a liquid crystal display panel(110) and upper and lower polarization plates(170,180) disposed to upper and lower parts of the LCD panel. The upper and lower polarization plates are formed of polarization films and first and second supporting films for supporting the polarization films at upper and lower surfaces of the polarization films. The upper polarization plate is attached to the top chassis via an adhesive(181) and the lower polarization plate is separated from a TFT substrate(111) of the display unit. |
