<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the heating and lighting cost for water heating by efficiently performing the heat pump water storing operation by having the hot water at intermediate to hot temperature drained from the tank. <P>SOLUTION: This heat pump water heater comprises a tank 31 for storing the hot water, a heat pump unit 32 for heating the water in the tank 31, and a stirring channel 52 having a second pump 53, and communicating a lower part and an upper part in the tank 31 for circulating and stirring the water. Whereby the remaining hot water can be stirred and mixed with the water of low temperature at the lower part of the tank by the operation of the second pump 53 to sufficiently lower the temperature, in a state of keeping high temperature without being reheated, even when the hot water used in the hot water supply in the daylight remains in the tank 31 before the heating in the middle of the night, and then the entire water in the tank can be boiled, so that the temperature of the water supplied to the heat pump 32 in heating is lowered, and the efficiency of the heating operation can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
