PURPOSE: A high voltage breaker is provided to efficiently buffer the impact generated due to the lowering operation of the piston rod. CONSTITUTION: A high voltage breaker comprises a housing(10); a piston rod(1) mounted in the housing, and which moves in a vertical direction so as to connect or disconnect a high voltage wire; a piston(3) inserted into the lower portion of the piston rod; a piston rod elevating unit for supporting the piston rod and the piston and supplying a hydraulic pressure to the upper and lower portions of the piston in such a manner that the piston rod slides in a vertical direction; and an impact buffering unit arranged beneath the piston rod elevating unit, and which accumulates the hydraulic pressure being supplied to the piston and buffers the impact generated due to the sudden lowering operation of the piston rod. The piston rod elevating unit includes a hydraulic cylinder(5), an upper cap(7) and a lower cap(11). The impact buffering unit includes a cup and a bellows unit.
