PURPOSE: A circuit breaker is provided to achieve improved operating reliability of the circuit breaker, while allowing the breakdown of the circuit breaker to be easily recognized. CONSTITUTION: A circuit breaker comprises a case(1); a cover(2); a mechanism unit(3) for performing a trip operation; a latch(4) interlocked with the mechanism unit; a latch holder(5); a nail(6) for restricting or releasing the latch holder; a cross bar(8) mounted in the case in such a manner that the cross bar rotates by the over current or momentary operation; a spring(9) for returning the cross bar; a shooter(10) interposed between the cross bar and the nail, and which transfers the action of the cross bar to the nail; a bi-metal(11) which operates by the over current and rotates the cross bar; an armature(12) which operates by the momentary operation and rotates the cross bar; and a trip button(13) mounted on the cover in such a manner that the trip button rotates the cross bar.
