NOVEL PLANT VARIETY OF ARTEMISIA PRINCEPS VAR. ORIENTALIS 'KOREA'

PURPOSE: A novel plant variety of Artemisia princeps Var. orientalis 'Korea' is provided, which can absorb and accumulate heavy metals into an available form from the heavy metal polluted soil. CONSTITUTION: A novel plant variety of Artemisia princeps Var. orientalis 'Korea' is isolated by treating Artemisia princeps Var. orientalis with 0.021 to 0.2 mM of sulphur and 50 mM of cadmium to induce mutation, selecting mutated Artemisia princeps Var. orientalis, collecting rhizome from the roots of the mutant, asexual reproducing the rhizome up to five generations, and sand culturing the asexual reproduced rhizome.
