COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE DRIVE SYSTEM, SHIFT POSITION DIRECTIVE DETECTION DEVICE, AND SHIFT POSITION CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the safety and reliability of a vehicle when a ShiftByWire system is realized by utilizing the network of a vehicle drive system.

SOLUTION: A shift position directive detection device 20 and a shift position control device 40 forming the ShiftByWire system are installed in the communication system of the vehicle drive system formed of an engine ECU 12 and a transmission ECU 14 to transmit a shift position directive from a detection device 20 to a control device 40 by utilizing the network of the vehicle drive system. To assure the reliability of the communication system, important data including shift position directives are communicated through two systems by utilizing not only a communication line Ln forming the network but also a power line Ld. As a result, the reliability of the entire communication system including the ShiftByWire system can be increased.
