APPARATUS FOR REMOVING SUSPENDED PARTICULATE MATTERS IN EXHAUST GAS AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus removing suspended particulate matters included in exhaust gas exhausted from an internal combustion engine or the like such as a diesel engine.

SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises: a main body 16 having a front chamber 14 and a rear chamber 15 in such a manner that a trapping chamber 13 trapping the suspended particulate matters 12 by ventilating exhaust gas (including suspended particulate matters 12) is installed between them; an exhaust line 18 exhausting cleaned exhaust gas 17 ventilated through the trapping chamber 13; a catalyst adhering means 20 for adhering the catalyst on the surface of the particulate 12 in the exhaust gas which is trapped by the trapping chamber 13 by spraying a catalyst solvent 19; and a catalyst solvent recovering means 21 for recovering the catalyst solvent 19. The shape of the bottom 22 of the catalyst solvent recovering means 21 is formed into a reverse truncated cone and a residue 23 including unburned carbon in the catalyst solvent 19 is separated by means of sedimentation.
