PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-position stopping cylinder for stopping a piston rod at three positions with a simple structure utilizing a difference between pressure receiving areas of both surfaces of a piston and a pusher. SOLUTION: The pusher 33 which has a stroke shorter than that of the piston 26 at either position on a head side or a rod side in a cylinder main body 25, and which serves as both of a means for pushing the piston 26 from a stroke end back to an intermediate stopping position and a means for stopping the piston at the intermediate stop position, is disposed so as to be movable independently from the piston 26, and a pressing means 32 for causing the pusher 33 to displace to the intermediate stopping position is provided.
