PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure gas generating device in which rust is less likely to be generated at inner parts. SOLUTION: In this high pressure gas generating device, air is sucked into a high pressure compressor to be compressed to high pressures, so that high pressure gas is generated. It is provided with an air compressor to suck air to be compressed and discharged, and a drier unit connected to the discharge side of the air compressor, and connected to the suction side of the high pressure compressor to dehumidify air from the air compressor. In starting operation of the device, the air compressor and the drier unit are operated, and with delay from it, the high pressure compressor is started. Air sucked into the high pressure compressor is dehumidified to be at a prescribed temperature, for example, and this dry air is compressed to high pressures. Therefore, rust is less likely to be generated in the high pressure compressor, and damage to the inner parts can be prevented to the utmost. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
