PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thin set crimped tow having a total fineness of 2 to 9 ktex from LOY, POY, or FOY filaments. SOLUTION: The method for producing the thin set crimped tow comprises winding filament spun yarns on reels, pulling out the spun yarns from the reels attached to a reel frame, twisting the spun yarns, applying an adjusting agent to the twisted filament spun yarns, subjecting the treated spun yarns to a drawing or tension-comparing adjustment, heating the yarns, and then setting the twist of the yarn. The method can be performed on line with many additional processing treatments. The tow is suitable for producing sanitary woven fabric articles such as diapers, sanitary bands, pads, and pads for incontinence. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
