PURPOSE: A method for displaying a caller's phone number and character in a portable terminal is provided to easily recognize a caller through a character and a text by making the caller's character displayed together with the caller's phone number on the display window when a terminating signal is received. CONSTITUTION: Accessing a service server using a personal computer, a user manufactures a new character or edits a manufactured character(S11). After manufacturing his own character, the user downloads and stores it to his portable terminal(S12). In case that the user makes a phone call, the user selects a desired character among a plurality of previously stored characters(S13). If the calling operation is completed, the selected character is transmitted to a receiver's portable terminal together with a calling signal(S14). The transmitted character is received to the receiver's portable terminal together with the calling signal(S15). While a terminating signal is outputted at the receiver's portable terminal, the character is displayed on the display window together with the user's phone number(S16). |
