<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image reader which can correct unevenness with higher precision according to the properties of the information of radiation images. <P>SOLUTION: The medical image reader 3 allows a CPU41 to calculate standard correction data from uniform light exposure image data and form correction data on N rectangular objects from the image data on those obtained by locating objects whose sizes and X-ray absorptances are different and taking pictures of them. Then, the ratio C(x, y) between a frequency (f) of a signal value indicating a direct X-ray region in a pre-correction image data, that indicating a direct X-ray region and that of each pixel is calculated from a histogram of pre-correction image data obtained by locating the objects, the corrected data or the standard correction data on the rectangular object image where the distance between (f) and C(x, y) is nearest are selected and the pre- correction image data are corrected by the selected correction data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
