PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bus fare machine maintenance system of a simple constitution capable of surely distinguishing whether the failure is caused by its service life or accident, reducing the stop of a function of the bus fare machine by its failure, and easily collecting the data without mounting the special equipment. SOLUTION: A memory MEM is mounted on a cashbox 1-5 of the bus fare machine, and various pieces of information relating to the receipt of fare is recorded in the log data D2 of the memory MEM as the receipt information. When the cashbox 1-5 is taken out from the bus fare machine and set on an adjustment device 2 in a business office, the cashbox 1-5 is unlocked and its door is opened. The log data D2 in the memory MEM of the cashbox 1-5 is sent to a personal computer 3 for adjustment through the adjustment device 2, and the operational records (operating time, and number of times of operation) of specific actuators (motor for inclined roller, motor for delivery, and motor for conveying) is accumulated in the personal computer 5 for adjustment.
