PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical material using a peralkyl ladder polysilane molecular crystal, which is easily prepared, is composed of an organic silicon compound and has a high circularly polarizing property and a method for preparing the same. SOLUTION: In a method for preparing an asymmetric crystal of peralkyl ladder polysilane, the optically active crystal of ladder polysilane is obtained by dissolving ladder polysilane in an ether-acetone mixed solvent, preparing and filtrating a thick solution using a membrane filter and evaporating the solvent in a glass container over two weeks.
