HIGH EFFICIENCY LIGHTING SYSTEM, SCROLLING UNIT AND PROJECTION SYSTEM EMPLOYING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A high efficiency lighting system, a scrolling unit and a projection system employing the same are provided to improve efficiency of the lighting system by reducing etendue of light source with compact structure, and to decrease the size by scrolling various color with the single scrolling unit. CONSTITUTION: A projection system comprises a light source(50); a beam splitter(55) separating rays from the light source according to wavelength; a scrolling unit(60) scrolling the color light separated by the beam splitter; and a light valve(67) forming the color image by processing the light from the scrolling unit corresponding to the image signal. The image is magnified and projected on a screen(70) by a projection lens unit(68). The light source has a lamp(51), and a reflector(53) reflecting the light from the lamp and guiding the processing passage. The scrolling unit scrolls the incident ray by converting rotation of the lens cell into the linear motion of the lens array.
