PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing a wollastonite type glass ceramic having excellent mechanical strength by using a waste glass and a shellfish shell as a starting material, without any loss caused by conventional complicate processing steps and heat treating steps. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing a glass ceramic using a waste glass and a shellfish shell is characterized by comprising the step of pulverizing the waste glass and shellfish shell by means of a disc type ball mill for 30 minutes at 700 rpm to obtain the powder having the size of about 150 mesh or less. In particular, the waste glass mixed with the shellfish shell in the weight ratio of 4:1 are used in the pulverizing step. Further, a heat treating step may be performed in an electric furnace at the temperature of 950-1000 deg.C for 0.5 to 1 hours.
