PURPOSE: A search system and method is provided to classify persons, who use a search system, into groups according to certain criteria, to manage a web page visit history for each person and group via a database, and to enable the user to search for data by using various conditions based on the web page visit history data. CONSTITUTION: Members who have subscribed for a search service system are classified into groups according to certain criteria(s100). URLs for web pages which the members have visited are classified for each member and group, and are stored at databases(s200, s300). A member logs in the search service system(s400), and corresponding member data is checked(s400). If the member selects a search range(s600), then a search target database gets selected according to the selected search range, a search process is performed on the selected database(s700) and a search result is offered to the member(s800). For example, the member can select member search history data or group search history as the search range, and accordingly a corresponding database is selected. If the member browses the search result, and visits a corresponding web page, the visit specification data is stored at the databases(s900).
