Elimination of xenobiotics ex vivo - by topical or oral treatment with squalane or squalene

摘要

The following are claimed (A) the use of squalane (I) and squalene (II) in lotions, creams, pastes, ointments, emulsions, shampoos and solns for elimination of lipid-soluble xenobiotics (III) through the skin and associated tissues; (B) the use of (I) in orally administered liq or solid form, eg as suspensions, tablets, pills or capsules, for elimination of (III) through the intestinal tract in humans and animals. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) and (II) have a high affinity for toxic hydrocarbons and halogenated hydrocarbons, eg dioxins, dibenzofurans, polychlorinated biphenyls, DDT and lindane, and are thususeful for removing such cpds from the bloodstream, thereby reducing the risk of liver damage, milk contamination, etc.
