The radio telephone has at least one control processor (10) and at least one signal processor (9), selectively switched into the active state only when required, for reducing the overall energy requirement. A control stage (8) controls the switching of the control processor and the signal processor. At least one of the processors is divided into at least two partial blocks, which can be activated individually by the control stage.
