Data transfer method between two processors (13a, 13b) of a data processing unit, whereby one processor, for communications purposes, has dynamic memory (16a-16z), while the other processor, which is used for control purposes, has static memory (18). The communications processor identifies exceeding of the static memory capacity during communication and writes the corresponding data to its dynamic memory for buffer storage. The invention also relates to a corresponding device with a communications processor that has an analysis module (22) for detecting exceeding of static memory capacity in a control processor.
