SPACER BLOCK OF VICE

A spacer block to be used for maintaining the space between adjacent works when fixing the works to a vice. The works can be fixed to each specific position flexibly according to dimensional difference or presence or absence of deflection of the individual works. The spacer block has a slide base (1) guided in the vice holding direction. A driving wedge (8) having a driving wedge surface (9) on both outwardly directed surfaces is fitted to a guide projection erected on the slide base, and an advancing/retracting device (11) is provided for advancing/retracting the driving wedge in the direction of erection of the guide projection. On both sides of the driving wedge there is provided a pair of mouth pieces (14) having a driven wedge surface (13) on its back side which is brought into slidable contact with the wedge surface. A return spring (18) is provided for urging the pair of mouth pieces in the direction to approach each other. The driving wedge surface (9) and the driven wedge surface (13) are preferably formed to be a multi-staged wedge surface with a plurality of wedge surfaces arranged in a stage-like manner.
