<p>The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions and methods wherein L-methadone and at least one other opioid analgesic are administered in amounts effective to potentiate a synergistic antinociceptive response to moderate and severe pain, preferably with decreased dependence and tolerance potential. Synergistic potentiation of analgesia through administration of pharmaceutical compositions comprising L-methadone and at least one other opioid analgesic provides a new and improved approach to pain management.</p> |
