A method of localizing pressure points (loaded points) of a shoe or boot involves placing one or more probes (20) at pain-sensitive spots of the body part (10,11) to provide or receive signals via a momentary-contact actuator (24) leaving the outer surface of the shoe/boot (15) and by evaluation of the intensity of the signals received from the actuator (24) or from the probes (20), the position of the shoe or boot (15) is determined under which the probes and the pain-sensitive body parts are located. An Independent claim is given for an appliance for implementing the method.
