A vending display has a stand divided into an array of sites, each for a particular type of item. The sites are provided with means to attach the items and with identity markings for each particular item. The stand is further marked with a grid, with edge markings, to enable the buyer to track down any particular items by a simple cross reference. The coded markings can be symbols and/or colours and can be machine read for an automated loading system.
