Alkenyl esters are obtained from olefins in the presence of a Redox system comprising an acetic acid solution of a salt of a noble metal of Group VIII of the Periodic Table, a source of acetate ions, a source of chloride ions, Cu<SP>II</SP> ions and oxygen, the catalyst salts being regenerated by heating, in the presence of oxygen, a mixture of the acetic acid slurry of oxalate-containing precipitate and hydrochloric acid, characterized in that at least the theoretical amount of hydrochloric acid needed to liberate all oxalic acid from the precipitate is used. |
